We have decided that for our film the certificate will be a 15; this means that it will appeal to a wider audience and it will allow us to include scarier scenes which may not be appropriate for a 12 certificate. However as the certificate is a 15 we will need to keep to some strict rules as we don’t want it to transpire that it is not appropriate for 15 years and therefore would be better suited to 18 year olds.
As the certificate is a 15 it means that our characters are allowed to make strong threats as long as they aren’t sadistic or sexualized, we are also allowed dangerous behaviour and strong violence as long as sexual violence is discreet and have a strong contextual justification. However we must be careful about using knives as any accessible weapons should not be glamorized.
